Careers: Life in Boulder
People come to Colorado for all sorts of reasons, whether for the world class skiing and snowboarding, the mountain biking, the whitewater rafting, or just a chance to breathe the fresh mountain air. In Boulder, residents have created a community that embraces a healthy, culturally rich lifestyle. And at just a short drive to Denver or Rocky Mountain National Park, it’s a great starting off point for just about anything you could want to do.
Boulder’s 103,673 residents live nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, at an elevation of 5,430 feet. The University of Colorado contributes not only to the growing tech community, but also to the city’s youthfulness — more than 60% of the population is between the ages of 18 and 44.
The city boasts more than 30 art galleries, four local museums, and 32 movie and stage theaters. And with more than 300 restaurants featuring local, regional and international cuisine, there are dining opportunities catering to every individual taste.
Boulder has received accolades too numerous to count, but among other things has been named America’s Smartest City (Forbes magazine), ranked fifth in the Top 25 Best Green Places to Live (Country Home magazine), and called one of America’s Top 5 Cities for Cycling (Bicycling magazine).
